ICT Tutor

SEMH School | Kidderminster | Full-Time | £140 – £215 per day

Are you a passionate ICT Teacher, Computing Tutor, IT Instructor, or Digital Skills Coach looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people?

We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Kidderminster that is seeking an enthusiastic and resilient ICT & Computing Teacher/Tutor to join their team on a full-time basis. The school supports boys aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and is looking to appoint someone who can inspire students through technology, digital learning, and positive relationship-building.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging ICT and Computing lessons that develop students’ digital skills, confidence, and understanding of technology in the modern world. The successful candidate will work closely with students who may have experienced barriers to learning and require additional support, structure, and encouragement to achieve success.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified ICT Teacher, Computing Tutor, IT professional, digital skills trainer, or someone with strong industry experience looking to move into education. A teaching qualification is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging ICT and Computing lessons to students aged 11-16.
  • Teach a range of topics including digital literacy, coding, cyber safety, software applications, and employability skills.
  • Motivate and engage students with SEMH needs through practical and creative learning experiences.
  • Promote confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards learning and technology.
  • Manage behaviour positively through strong relationships and consistent expectations.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, abilities, and learning styles.
  • Support the wider school ethos of improving outcomes for vulnerable young people and preparing them for future education, training, or employment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working as an ICT Teacher, Computing Tutor, IT Trainer, Digital Skills Coach, Cover Supervisor, or similar role.
  • Strong ICT and computing knowledge with the ability to engage secondary-aged learners.
  • Confident managing behaviour and building positive relationships with young people.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, ADHD, Autism, or challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications, ICT certifications, computing qualifications, or industry experience are welcomed.
  • A passion for helping young people develop valuable digital and life skills.
