Supply Music Teacher – Faringdon

Location: Faringdon, Oxfordshire
Pay: £140-£160 per day
Key Stages: KS3-KS5
Contract: Supply / Flexible Teaching Opportunities
Agency: Monarch Education
Consultant: Holly Cano

Monarch Education is looking for an experienced and confident Supply Music Teacher to support secondary schools in and around Faringdon.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in Music who enjoys the flexibility of supply teaching while still having the opportunity to make a real impact in the classroom.

QTS is not essential for this position. What is essential is strong Music knowledge, previous experience working with secondary-aged students and the confidence to lead a classroom independently.

The Role

As a Supply Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging Music lessons to students across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Depending on the placement, work may range from day-to-day cover through to longer-term assignments. You could be stepping into pre-planned lessons or taking greater responsibility for delivering and adapting lessons over a longer period.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering Music lessons across KS3-KS5
  • Confidently managing a secondary classroom
  • Following existing lesson plans and schemes of work
  • Adapting lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs
  • Supporting students with both theoretical and practical elements of Music
  • Maintaining a positive, engaging and productive learning environment
  • Following individual school policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Providing continuity and consistency for students during staff absence
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff

Who We’re Looking For

You do not necessarily need QTS to be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Music
  • Previous experience teaching, tutoring or delivering Music to young people
  • Confidence working with students across KS3-KS5
  • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
  • The ability to quickly adapt to different schools, classes and environments
  • A professional, reliable and proactive approach
  • Confidence taking responsibility for a classroom independently

Why Work Through Monarch Education?

Working through Monarch Education gives you the flexibility to find work that fits around you, whether you’re looking for regular supply work, a longer-term placement or an opportunity to gain further experience within secondary education.

You’ll receive:

  • £140-£160 per day
  • Weekly pay
  • Access to a variety of school opportunities
  • Flexible supply work to suit your availability
  • Opportunities for longer-term placements
  • Support throughout your assignments
  • A dedicated consultant in Holly, who can help match you with suitable opportunities based on your experience, availability and preferences

Whether you’re an experienced teacher, an unqualified Music specialist with strong classroom experience, or someone with a solid Music background looking to continue building their experience within education, I’d love to hear from you.
