Reception Teaching Assistant – Sparkhill
Monarch Education are currently working with a Primary School in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham; to find an experienced Reception Teaching Assistant to start in June 2026. This role will be full time, Monday to Friday until July 2027. There will be no personal care involved in this role and no 1:1 work either. However, there will be children with SEND needs in the classroom.
Requirements of applicant:
- You Must have experience with challenging behaviour for this role
- Experienced supporting children with SEND – especially Autism and Behaviour Difficulties
- Confident and experienced individual who is able to assess situations before acting on them
- Ideally you would hold a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare or Education for this role, however this is not essential
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provided additional support to pupils across two different Reception classes
- Ensure the academic and social needs of pupils are engaged during group learning activities
- Work alongside the class teacher to ensure all lesson plans are up to date with the academic needs of each pupil
- Provide personal care where required
- Assist the class on regular out of school trips
- Ensure the safety of each child at all times
- Promote the Early Stages of Development needs of all pupils in her care
