Teaching Assistant – SEN Resource Base

Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Selly Oak, working within their specialist SEN Resource Base.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils within the school’s SEN Resource Base
  • Working with children with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and social interaction
  • Supporting pupils both within the resource base and during integration into mainstream lessons
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support individual learning plans

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Experience within a primary school or educational setting
  • A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to adapt to the varying needs of pupils
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
