Monarch Education is working with a primary school in Saltley to recruit a SENDCo for a four-day role (Monday to Thursday).

This role involves leading and managing SEND provision across the school while ensuring pupils with additional needs are identified early and supported through effective provision linked to EHCPs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
  • Oversee support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
  • Work with teachers to adapt learning and support pupils with SEND in the classroom
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on SEND strategies and approaches
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Ensure the school meets statutory SEND requirements and deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records relating to pupils with SEND
  • Contribute to whole school inclusion and planning

Requirements

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Must hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or be working towards it
  • Experience working in a UK primary school
  • Strong understanding of EHCP processes and SEND provision
  • Experience supporting a range of needs including ASD, ADHD and SEMH
  • Able to work with staff, families and external agencies
