Monarch Education are working with a specialist school in Rugby who are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the pupils

Pupils in this setting have complex and profound needs, which may include:

  • Severe learning difficulties (PMLD)
  • Physical disabilities
  • Medical needs
  • Sensory impairments
  • Limited communication abilities
  • Personal care requirements

The school places a strong emphasis on sensory learning, communication, and life skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting with individual learning programmes and EHCP targets
  • Supporting sensory activities and engagement in learning
  • Encouraging communication and interaction
  • Assisting with personal care and daily routines
  • Helping maintain a calm, safe, and structured environment
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff

Essential:

  • Experience working with SEND, PMLD, or complex needs
  • A calm, patient, and caring approach
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and able to commit to full-time work
