Monarch Education is working with a primary school in Stourbridge to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Role

  • Support pupils with SEND across the primary age range
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
  • Support literacy, numeracy, and communication development
  • Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Promote pupil engagement and independence
  • Support access to the curriculum and classroom activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans
  • Assist with targeted interventions
  • Follow behaviour and support plans
  • Work with class teachers and SEN staff
  • Monitor and record pupil progress
  • Support pupils throughout the school day

Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEND in an education setting
  • Minimum 12 weeks’ UK school experience
  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and additional needs
  • Ability to follow structured learning and behaviour plans
