Monarch Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in Walsall to recruit a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for a resilient and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting young people who may face emotional, behavioral, or social challenges and require consistent, structured support to succeed in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to secondary‑aged students
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, including emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Assist with personalised support plans and behaviour strategies
  • Promote positive engagement with learning and school routines
  • Support students during transitions and unstructured times
  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with SEMH, behaviour needs, or SEND pupils
  • Confident supporting secondary‑aged students
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
  • Available to work full‑time on a long‑term basis
