Monarch Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in Walsall to recruit a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role is ideal for a resilient and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting young people who may face emotional, behavioral, or social challenges and require consistent, structured support to succeed in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to secondary‑aged students
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, including emotional regulation and behaviour
- Assist with personalised support plans and behaviour strategies
- Promote positive engagement with learning and school routines
- Support students during transitions and unstructured times
- Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams

Essential Criteria
- Experience working with SEMH, behaviour needs, or SEND pupils
- Confident supporting secondary‑aged students
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
- Available to work full‑time on a long‑term basis
