We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Northfield from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. The successful candidate will work across the whole school, providing classroom support, delivering interventions and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as required.
  • Work with individuals, small groups and whole classes under the direction of teachers.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help with their learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.
  • Assist with playground duties and other school activities as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to helping pupils achieve their best.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can adapt quickly and work effectively across different year groups.
  • Is a positive team player with a proactive approach.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children.
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Knowledge of effective intervention strategies in literacy and numeracy.
  • First Aid qualification.
