Monarch Education are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Staveley and the surrounding Derbyshire area from September 2026.

As schools prepare for the new academic year, we are working with a number of local primary schools looking to appoint enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated Teaching Assistants. What you’ll need

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting
• A positive, proactive and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• Right to work in the UK

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Learning Support Assistant, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or similar child-focused role would be highly beneficial.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing throughout the school day.

You may work with individual pupils, support small groups, assist with intervention activities or provide general classroom support alongside the class teacher. Schools are seeking individuals who can help create a positive learning environment and encourage pupils to achieve their full potential.

This role would be ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants as well as candidates looking to build a career within education.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with classroom learning and activities
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Promote confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
• Support pupil engagement and participation
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
• Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
