Teaching Assistant
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Rate of Pay: £92.59 – £120 per day

Monarch Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a nurturing and supportive setting, working with pupils who have a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication needs, and associated behavioural challenges.
The successful candidate will support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them engage with learning, develop communication and social skills, build confidence and independence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and emotionally.
The school provides a highly personalised and therapeutic approach to learning, creating a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to overcome barriers, develop resilience, and reach their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEND, ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or complex needs, or relevant transferable skills
- A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Experience supporting pupils with communication difficulties and additional learning needs
- The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, flexible, and resilient attitude
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
